Enzypher
Data Retention Policy
Last updated: June 19, 2026
This policy summarizes how long Enzypher keeps different categories of data and why some information may remain for service, safety, or legal reasons.
1. What this policy covers
This Data Retention Policy explains how Enzypher keeps, updates, and removes account, profile, messaging, media, and operational data used to provide the app.
It should be read together with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
2. Account and profile data
We keep account and profile data while your account is active so Enzypher can authenticate you, display your profile, route conversations, and maintain settings.
If you request deletion, we aim to remove or anonymize account data where technically and legally possible, subject to security, fraud-prevention, backup, and legal limits.
3. Messages, dialogs, and groups
Messages, dialog previews, conversation membership, group details, statuses, timestamps, and related metadata may remain while needed to operate conversations for all participants.
Deleting, leaving, or hiding a conversation may not remove copies already delivered to other participants or retained for service integrity.
4. Media and uploaded files
Uploaded media may be stored while it is referenced by messages, profiles, or group details.
Removed or replaced media may remain temporarily in caches, backups, logs, or storage-provider systems before expiring.
5. Logs, recovery, and security records
We may retain operational logs, realtime recovery checkpoints, abuse-prevention records, authentication records, and error information for as long as needed to secure and improve Enzypher.
These records help us investigate failures, prevent abuse, and keep message recovery and delivery state reliable.
6. Backups and provider retention
Some data may remain in backups or infrastructure-provider systems for a limited period after deletion from active systems.
Backup retention depends partly on hosting, database, storage, and authentication providers used to operate Enzypher.
7. Legal and safety exceptions
We may retain data longer when required by law, to resolve disputes, enforce terms, investigate abuse, protect users, or maintain service security.
Retention periods may change as Enzypher evolves and as true end-to-end encryption and local authorization features mature.
